Pousada Forte de Santa Cruz

This is one of the few Pousadas at present in the Azores Islands and it was opened in 2004. A 16th century fortress has been rebuilt to provide comfortable accommodation for guests. From its rooms visitors have a magnificent view of the impressive peak on nearby Pico Island. The town of Horta has been famous in history for its port facility and as far back as 1775 the explorer Captain Cook commented on its fine houses and gardens. The harbour is normally full of yachts and boats travelling between Europe and the Americas. There are twenty six rooms and two suites supported with a restaurant and bar.

By Plane:
- To get to Faial Island there are regular flights from Lisbon.
- There are also daily flights from S. Miguel and Terceira Island.
By Taxi:
- To get to the Pousada, clients can get a taxi or rent a car at the airport.
- It takes about 15 minutes to get to the Pousada, situated in the centre of Horta City.

Cancellation Policy: If cancelled up to 2 days before date of arrival, no fee will be charged.
If cancelled later, the first night will be charged.
In case of no-show, the total price of the reservation will be charged.
Children and Extra Bed Policy: All children are welcome.
All children from 0 to 2 years stay free of charge when using existing bedding.
All children from 2 to 12 years are charged 15 % of the room stay per night and person for extra beds.
One older child or adult is charged 30 % of the room stay per night and person in an extra bed.
Maximum capacity of extra beds/babycots in a room is 1.
Deposit Policy: No deposit will be charged.
VAT and city/tourist taxes: 4 % VAT is included.
Service charge is not applicable.
City/tourist tax is not applicable.
Internet: Wireless internet is available in public areas and costs EUR 8.00 per hour.
Wireless internet is available in public areas and costs EUR 12.00 per 24 hours.
Meal Plan: Buffet breakfast is included in the room rate.
Parking: Free public parking is possible on site.
